All bats and their roosts in Britain are
protected by law. The Bat Conservation
Trust provide advice and guidance on
bats as well as legal information if you
have bats in your home or business.
Bats help with pest control by eating
insects, including bloodsucking
mosquitoes.
The British Pest Control Association
Is the leading UK’s pest control trade
association which has over
700 member companies and over 3,000
affiliates, offering advice
and guidance regarding pest
management and links to local
pest control services.
The British Association for Shooting
and Conservation
BASC is a national representative body
originally set up to help wildfowlers and
to promote total protection of wild
birds. Members adhere to BASC’s
Codes of Practice which help people
understand the law as well as
committing to high standards of health
and safety. We are members of BASC
and commit to its Codes of Practice.
The British Beekeepers Association
The BBKA promote the craft of
beekeeping and represents the
interests of amateur beekeepers and
honey bees they care for. Their website
provides information and education on
bees and the importance of bees in the
environment. We do not provide any
form of pest control for bees on ethical
grounds.
Canal and River Trust
The Canal and River Trust encourage
people to connect with their local
waterways and promote the enjoyment
that canals and rivers offer. Their
website provides education,
opportunities for volunteering and
general information on canals, rivers
and their areas.
Department for Environment Food
and Rural Affairs (DEFRA)
DEFRA is the UK government
department responsible for
safeguarding the natural environment,
supporting food and farming
industries, and sustaining rural
economies. DEFRA works with other
agencies and public bodies to promote
a cleaner and healthier environment.
National Pest Technicians
Association
The National Pest Technicians
Association is a membership body who
promote good practice within the pest
control industry. They work with
similar organisations to influence
government thinking and provide up to
date information, advice and guidance
on pest control to their members. We
are a member of the NPTA.
Think Wildlife – Campaign for
Responsible Rodenticide Use
We adhere to The Campaign for
Responsible Rodenticide Use Code of
Practice which includes seven principles
of pest control best practice:
• Always have a planned approach
• Always record quantity of bait &
where it is placed
• Always use enough baiting points
• Always collect and dispose of rodent
bodies
• Never leave bait exposed to non-
target animals and birds
• Never fail to inspect bait regularly
• Never leave bait down at the end of
the treatment
West Midlands Hedgehog Rescue
WMHR acts in the best interests of sick,
injured or distressed wild native
hedgehogs. They provide care in the
“Hosprickal” and release hedgehogs
back into the wild wherever possible.

make your garden more attractive for
